CineVault ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what your choices are.
Information we collect
- Browser-side data. We save your selected language and authentication token in browser local storage. Watchlist data is stored by the backend for signed-in users.
- Server logs. When the catalog proxy is enabled, our hosting provider may log standard request metadata (IP, user-agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.
- Third-party metadata. Movie and series information is retrieved from public databases. No personal information about you is shared with those services.
How we use information
We use technical data only to operate, secure and improve the site. We do not sell personal data and we do not run ad-tracking trackers.
Account & content data
If you create an account or interact with titles, we store:
- Your display name.
- Your email address.
- A securely hashed password — never your plain-text password.
- Your watchlist items, likes, and user ratings.
- Your comments.
Comments may be shown publicly together with your display name, so please do not post private information in comments.
This data is used only to run account features. We do not sell your personal data.
External platforms & contact
External watch links and the WhatsApp contact/report option open third-party services that have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for how those services handle your data.
Your choices
You can clear your browser storage at any time. You can also block third-party fonts and CDNs in your browser settings.
